Care for the future large grants – AHRC

The Arts and Humanities Research Council will be launching a call for its Care for the Future Theme Large Grant applications.  The application form for Outline proposals will be available in J-es from 5th June 2013 with a closing date of 4pm on 10th October 2013.

These grants are for major research projects of a scale and ambition beyond that normally required for a standard AHRC grant, exploring the relationship that exists between past, present and future, and how they interact with and shape each other, through a temporally inflected lens.

Projects are expected to be highly collaborative and include partners from outside the higher education sector. Higher education institutions, some research council institutes and independent research organisations are eligible to apply.

Funding for each grant awarded will be between £1m and £2m (fEC) over a period of between 36 and 60 months and will be expected to start between 1 September 2014 and 1 April 2015. Approximately 2-4 Large Grants are expected to be funded under each theme (subject to quality and overall balance within the theme).
