The next round of the Royal Society Industry Fellowship Scheme has opened to applications today. The closing date for applications is Friday 5 October 2012.

The Industry Fellowship scheme is for academic scientists who would like to work on a collaborative project with industry, and for scientists in industry who would like to work on a collaborative project with an academic organisation.

The scheme aims to enhance knowledge transfer between academia and industry and provides holders with a basic salary and a contribution towards research costs.

The scheme covers all areas of life and physical science, including engineering but excluding clinical medicine. The fellowship is for two years full time or up to 4 years part time.
