The BBSRC has recently announced a call for a number of vacancies on the BBSRC Strategy Panels, core committees Training Awards Committee and Pool of Experts.
BBSRC is looking to appoint high calibre, committed individuals from academic and industrial sectors to fill a number of vacancies on our Strategy Panels, Core Committees including the Training Awards Committee and the Pool of Experts: Peer Review.
The Panels play leading roles in the development and implementation of the Council’s policies and priorities.
The Core Research Committees and the Pool of Experts: Peer Review play key roles in delivering BBSRC’s Mission by carrying out peer review of research grant proposals and assessing final reports on funded proposals.
The Training Awards Committee (TAC) is responsible for allocating approximately £60m per annum of BBSRC’s budget in the form of fellowships, studentships and other training awards. It also advises BBSRC on training policy and standards in these areas. TAC has a proactive role in post-award monitoring, including fellowship mentoring, annual appraisals and undertaking institutional visits to studentship award holders. TAC will have lead responsibility for the peer review and post award engagement / monitoring of newly established Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs).
