Joseph Rowntree Foundation Call for Proposals: Understanding the Business Models used in Forced Labour in the UK

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) has issued a call for proposals for a paper which looks at the different business models/criminal modus operandi used by perpetrators of forced labour.

The JRF hope that by looking at forced labour in this way it will suggest ways in which:

  • the criminal enterprise can be better understood and disrupted (not only by the police, but also via improved labour inspection)legitimate industries can detect forced labour in their supply chain
  • individuals/business manages understand that they can be criminally liable for certain behaviours
  • consumers can become more aware of how forced labour operates.

Up to£25,000 is available for a project duration of four months. For the full call details please read the Call for Proposals.

Further information on the call, including details of how to apply, can be found on the JRF website:  Understanding the business models used in forced labour in the UK
