Invitation for Proposals: Research Institute in the Science of Cyber Security

The EPSRC have just issued an invitation for proposals from academic researchers who wish to form part of a Research Institute in the Science of Cyber Security. Please see below for the call summary:

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in Cheltenham are inviting proposals from academic researchers who wish to form part of a Research Institute in the Science of Cyber Security (the Institute).Working in conjunction with GCHQ whilst undertaking research to be published in the public domain, the Institute will identify and address key issues that underpin our understanding of Cyber Security.

Eligibility to apply as a Principal Investigator (PI) on a proposal submitted in response to this Call is restricted to attendees at the workshop hosted by EPSRC on 14-15 December 2011 as indicated in the Call for Workshop Participants dated 12 October 2011, a copy of which can be found on the Research Institute in the Science of Cyber Security workshop page. Co-Investigators (Co-Is) need not have attended the workshop.

The Research Institute will be jointly funded by GCHQ and EPSRC, with an indicative budget from the sponsors of £3M over 3.5 years, through an EPSRC research grant.
