Using ResearchProfessional to Create Multiple Funding Alert Profiles

Anyone who has come along to one of the Finding Research Funding workshops I’ve been running over the past few months will know how to use ResearchProfessional.com to create funding email alert.

The value of this is that you get notified in your inbox as soon as a new funding opportunity is released which matches your research interests. But sometimes this can be a little overwhelming, particularly if you are alerted about a lot of different searches – you could end up wading through an email with a long list of funding opportunities.

ResearchProfessional has recently released a new feature which allows users to set up multiple alert profiles from a single account. This means you could, for example, create one profile for funding related to social science and another for travel grants. You would receive separate emails which would be flagged to allow you to more easily sort the opportunities you receive.

See the ResearchProfessional help page for more information:

To create a new alerts profile, go to the People tab in the Directory section. Click the ‘Create new alerts profile’ link. This will create a new profile containing all of your saved searches (including any institution resources you have bookmarked). Fill in a name for the alert profile in the field provided (this is how the profile will be identified in the email you receive) and check the boxes for the searches that you wish to be alerted on for this profile. Then click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the screen.

Iam writing to register our organisation–Global Action Research and Development Initiative (Garadi) Ltd, for any funding alerts. We are a research organisation and it is better that we do not miss any funding deadlines.
