Life Science, Pharmacy and Engineering Research Showcase

Life Science related employers:

On the 2nd and 3rd of May the University of Lincoln’s Schools of Life Science, Pharmacy and Engineering will be showcasing their work to staff, students and members of the public.

We would like to invite you to come along to provide that ‘trade stand’ experience of a conference but for you to meet the students and to see the type of research they have been working on over their final year. This is an ideal opportunity to speak with students who are searching for jobs but also provides students with an invaluable networking opportunity with the ‘real world’. For companies that have had vacancy opportunities or graduate schemes in the past it has been a helpful introduction to potential employees in a more informal setting.

The conference takes place in the Engine Shed, and this year will be on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd May. You are free to attend both days or to just pop in as you wish. The types of projects showcased on each day are being finalised.

New for this year will be a Royal Society of Biology sponsored post-graduate event for public engagement in science.  This will take place on the Tuesday afternoon, life sciences students from Universities throughout the East Midlands will be invited and post-graduate students within the College of Science will also be presenting.

If you are interested in attending the showcase please do get in touch with Elizabeth Rundle; the showcase is free to attend and car parking on campus can be organised should you require this.

Engineering:

On the 3rd May Students from across the University’s College of Science will be making poster presentations in the fields of Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences and Pharmacy. The ‘Engineering Showcase’ is a one-day session where 3rd year Mechanical Engineering students will make poster presentations of their individual projects, and there will be group presentations from final year MEng Mechanical Engineering students to an audience of academics and industry representatives.

Who should attend?

Project supervisors, graduate recruiters and any other people who may be interested in the work we do at the College of Science. We’re happy to accomodate any companies who may be able to propose future student projects, host internships or get involved with the Engineering scholarship scheme.
