Marie Curie ITN and IAPP General Information and Proposal Writing Events 2012

The UK Research Office (UKRO) will be holding a series of Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN) and Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) general information and proposal writing events in September:

Venue

  • University of Edinburgh – 17th September 2012 (afternoon session)
  • University of Warwick – 27th September 2012 (morning session)

Time

Registration for the event at the University of Edinburgh will start at 13:00. The session will start at 13:30 and close at around 16:30.
Registration for the event at the University of Warwick will start at 10:00. The sessions will start at 10:30 and close at around 13:30.

Aim

The aim of the sessions is to provide participants with an overview of the Marie Curie Initial Training Networks scheme (ITNs), including the European Industrial Doctorate (EID) Programme and the Innovative Doctoral Programme (IDP), and Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways scheme (IAPP), and with a deeper understanding of the key issues they are required to address in planning and writing a proposal.

Who should attend?

The sessions will be of particular interest to UK-based researchers who are interested in and/or are planning to submit a proposal to the Marie Curie ITNs call, which opened on 10 July 2012 and closes on 22 November 2012, and the IAPPs, which will open on 2 October 2012 and close on 16 January 2013.
We should emphasise that while the IAPP scheme is more obviously aimed at the private sector, the participation of the private sector is also essential for the ITN scheme.

Therefore these events are relevant for representatives from private sector research organisations as well as those from the academic sector.

Programme outline

The sessions will include a presentation on the schemes, highlighting the new strands and any changes that have occurred since the previous calls. The session will also provide a forum for discussion, and to answer questions that applicants may have relating to ITNs and IAPPs, and preparing a proposal.
